Is it seriously July already?!? Where has the summer gone? We have been busy busy having fun and getting ready for the fall. Here are a couple things we have been doing lately and our 4th of July celebration.
Toree completed her swimming lessons this month as an official "skipper." She has another session starting this week. Here we are at a fun little pool and fountain. She has a love hate relationship with the water. She doesn't love to be in the water but doesn't want to get out either. So I am usually in with her the whole time. Love my curly sue!
Here is Toree after not even a half an hour of playing outside. There was a week of crazy hot temperatures and humidity. Not a good combination for a little girl who lives to be outside.
We (and when I say we, I mean I. Ryan takes no responsibility.) decided it would be fun to get a tire swing in our front yard. We have a pretty good tree and there are kids all over wanting something fun to do. And who didn't have a tire swing when they were little? We did a really great job putting it up too.
A few days after it was up we were told to take it down. Someone complained and there is a rule that says no causing damage to the trees. What damage could it cause? Lame!! The kids loved it while it was up.
Our 4th of July was very fun! We had two BBQs and lots of fireworks. Our townhouse neighborhood had so many fireworks they were just going off continuously for 2 hours at least. It was fun to get together with friends and celebrate. Thanks to everyone who worked so hard to put it all together!
Toree was not excited about the fireworks at all. Loud noises are not fun apparently. She warmed up to the idea after a while but I think after 9 p.m. she was just exhausted and didn't care.
Hooray for fireworks! Especially big loud ones that are illegal anywhere except KC!! I'm just glad no one got an extremity blown off. The fireworks here are crazy!

What darling pictures! Jake doesn't like the loud noises either, so he holds his hands over his ears and laughs at the colors. So glad that your 4th was so fun!
p.s. that stinks about having to take down the tire swing...how rude for them to complain about it! We had one growing up and I can't tell you the number of times I spun myself dizzy on it - so fun!
That is too bad about the tire swing! Since when did trees become important that you can't swing from one!?
It's good to hear that Toree is normal! I think Marlie must not be - that or she is an adrenalin junkie. She didn't even flinch when the cannon went off at the parade. She was the only one that didn't and everyone else knew it was coming!
